about

It's been really hard keeping this release secret from everyone but I'm finally able to release the joint project between Future Retro London & Scientific Wax Retro.

Scientific Wax Retro (as well as the main label & other offshoots) have been a huge influence to me on my sound and on how I want to run this label. They maintain a very high calibre of quality releases, they consistently hold a strong cult following & most importantly, they represent their true selves in the music, unashamedly to the fullest, with no fear or doubts about what they are doing.

I had a tune released on Scientific Wax Retro in 2016 called PSI and it was a tune I made whilst going through a low period in my life. During that time, I was trying to distract myself from the way I was feeling about things through making music and I didn't have any plans for any of the tunes made in that period but I happened to send that tune to Equinox and to my absolute disbelief, he was interested in signing it for the label. Since then, he's become one of my closest friends through music and he's been supporting me & my label to the point where it only felt natural that we would team up on a release together.

For the Scientific Wax Retro side, Nebula's tune called "Fantasia" is trademark Nebula style, wicked atmospherics, deep bass & running breaks. Meanwhile, Equinox's tune called "Bad Dreams" is actually a tune he made in 1995, which he released digitally on a release of other older tunes that were lost to the ether, but was able to recover recently, so that it could be cleaned up for proper release on this joint label project.

For the Future Retro London side, Kid Lib's tune called "Only One" is a tune I had been playing for a number of years but there never seemed to be a plan for releasing it, so it only made sense to have it on this release, especially as Kid Lib was also on the same Scientific Wax Retro release as me in 2016. The last tune on the release is by me entitled "Drum Studies", very much centered around the breaks and bass with nothing else to distract from the basic elements at focus.
